Straits is building a biomethane liquefaction, storage and export facility in Muar, Peninsular Malaysia.

The bio-LNG facility will focus on procuring compressed biomethane from established players in Malaysia using established technology and feedstock (covered POME lagoon), before bringing in new technology to enhance feedstock supply in phase 2, 3, & 4.

What is Bio-LNG?

Our Business

We procure Compressed Biomethane and produce Liquefied Biomethane to export to international markets.

Procurement of Compressed Biomethane (CBM)

Straits Bio acts as an offtaker of CBM from proven biogas producers in West Malaysia according to our specification. The CBM will be trucked by dedicated fleet of CNG long-tube to ensure integrity of the supply chain.

Liquefaction and storage

Polishing, liquefaction and LNG storage facilities are to be set up in Muar within the premise of Maharani Energy Gateway.

Export Terminal

Our export jetty is compatible to offload Liquefied Biomethane ("LBM") to LNG Bunkering Vessels ("LBVs") and LNG-Fuelled Vessels ("LFVs").
